Unemployed - Under-employed - Unhappy job situation &You are not alone.

Many people in our community are faced with layoffs and unemployment.  Others have found themselves in jobs that are not satisfying.  The financial, emotional and spiritual toll of these situations is significant.  Transition is a time of questions, ups and downs, and sometimes chaos.  However, out of the chaos, God promises good things. 

Our Lady of the Lake has begun working to develop a job transition and networking group to offer support in terms of job seeking skills and strategies, networking contacts, and spiritual support.  This group has been developed to meet your unemployment and employment needs.  We are looking for people to help fill two categories of this group.  Read the information below and see if you fit into one of these categories.

Job Seekers
We provide a safe environment for you to explore what you need spiritually, emotionally and physically.  We work to provide you with job seeking skills and strategies, networking contacts, leads and referrals, tips and techniques to aid in your job search.  In the coming weeks, the Networking Support Group will present recruiting and related professionals who are offering their time and talent to help those who are in job transition or are just looking for that next opportunity to expand their careers.  Unemployed or Employed, these speakers will offer helpful insight on the role your resume plays and will offer free resume evaluation as well as interviewing and searching skills.

Our meetings will be held every second Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Conference Room.

Businesses, Hiring Managers, Community Members
Your support and participation is crucial to those looking for work.  Job seekers need support in different areas such as:

• Information on job interviews, companies, careers, industries
• Contact referrals to people you know in different companies or careers.
• Coaching on:  transferring their skills to other careers or industries, resume writing and interview skills.
• Spiritual / Emotional / Psychological support
• Speakers on the job search process.
