Mission Statement:
The Our Lady of the Lake Youth Group is a Roman Catholic based group working together to explore three different aspects of being Catholic. Our group looks towards service of God and others, by following the path of Jesus, exploring spirituality through open discussions about faith and religion, and participating in social activities to form a greater social community with others.

Music Ministry


The Children's Choir

Students from grades 3 through 8 are welcome to join this group. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about our music and liturgy. Rehearsals are on Thursday afternoons from 2:45 to 3:45 PM. This choir provides the music for the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass.

The Traditional Choir

The Traditional Choir provides the music for the 10:30 am, Mass as well as special liturgies throughout the year. This choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Church.

The Contemporary Ensemble

The Contemporary Ensemble provides music for the Saturday 5:30 p.m.
Liturgy and other special events throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on
Saturday afternoon at 4:30 pm at St. Cecilia's Room.

Our Lady of the Lake Parish, located in rural/suburban Sparta, in the midst of lakes and mountains in northern New Jersey, is a faith community of approximately 2700 registered families, of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paterson

Our Lady of the Lake is a Roman Catholic Community founded in tradition and based on our faith in Jesus Christ. With the help of the Holy Spirit we share the message of God's love with all. Through our ministries and school, we strive to address spiritual, social and educational needs. We are nourished by the Eucharist, enlightened by the Word, and guided by our devotion to Mary, Our Lady of the Lake.

If you are thinking about moving into the Sparta area, we cordially invite you to make Our Lady of the Lake your parish home. We look forward to meeting new members of our faith community. Sunday Masses which includes the Vigil Mass on Saturday evening at 5:30pm are celebrated on Sunday at 7:45am, 9:00am, 10:30am, Noon. There is also a 6:30pm Mass (except during June, July and August)
Weekday Masses are celebrated 8:30am on Monday through Saturday.

Cantors

Open to those who feel comfortable leading the assembly in sung prayer and have a pleasant singing voice. The ability to read music is very helpful. The cantors rehearse as needed, and are scheduled at any of our six weekend masses.
